Greystar has acquired land and plans to start construction in about a month on a 28-story apartment tower in Seattle’s South Lake Union. The developer paid $20 million for the site, which it acquired from the Seattle Unity Church.
Designed by Weber Thompson, the project will have 374 units and an underground parking garage with 286 spaces. It will be named The Waverly. Construction on the residential tower is expected to begin next month, with the garage delivering next year. The project is planned to include a large deck and interior space atop a fifth-level podium, 4,700 square feet of decks on the roof, 3,200 square feet of interior view space, as well as a 132-stall bike room. The deal allows Seattle Unity to build a new 7,220-square-foot church in the same area. Seattle Unity’s 1960 church will be razed and replaced by a new Olson Kundig-designed church. Seattle Unity plans to launch church construction in fall 2020, and anticipates delivery in late 2021.
