New Home Co. Finalizes Landsea Acquisition

New Home Co. officially joins the ranks of top 25 US homebuilders with the formal completion of its acquisition of Landsea Homes. The combined company pairs the 62nd (New Home) and 33rd (Landsea) largest homebuilders according to Builder Magazine’s top 100 rankings for 2024. The expanded firm will be piloted by Matthew Zaist, who has been president and CEO at New Home Co.

The combination expands both the market reach and the diversity in housing mix as the two companies followed two different approaches to the market.

New Home has targeted entry-level and move-up buyers in major markets in the West, Central and Pacific Northwest regions. Landsea on the other hand has focused on building high-end homes and sustainable master-planned communities throughout the country. Its focus is on major markets such as Los Angeles, New York and Boston.

The acquisition was funded with proceeds from an equity contribution from funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Managment, land banking capital from Millrose Properties, which is acquiring $522 million worth of homesites under option with New Home in connection with the transaction, and a senior notes offering by New Home.

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP served as legal counsel to New Home, while Latham & Watkins LLP served as legal counsel to Landsea Homes. Reported by New Home Co. press release June 25, 2025
