EMPIRE COMMUNITIES, PERRY HOMES EXPAND IN SOUTHEAST THROUGH ACQUISITION

Mergers and acquisitions in home building show no signs of letting up with recent acquisitions
underway by Empire Communities and Perry Homes. Canada-based Empire Communities
expands its footprint in the US with the acquisition of SouthCraft Home Builders, based out of
Charlotte, N.C. Texas-based Perry Homes announced in December it is acquiring MasterCraft
Builder Group, a major player in the Jacksonville, Fla., market.

For Empire, the move is a continuation of the company’s US growth that now has it operating in
major markets including Austin, Atlanta, North and South Carolina, Chattanooga, Colorado
Springs, Houston and San Antonio. The company’s expansion efforts focus on markets that
offer strong demand and growth potential.

Perry Homes CEO Todd Chachere said the MasterCraft acquisition will accelerate the company’s
growth in Florida, and noted the symbiotic relationship between the two companies as they
share similar organizational values.

And Chris Shee, Owner and CEO of MasterCraft, discussed the careful consideration behind the
decision to partner with Perry Homes.

“Selling MasterCraft Builder Group was a deeply personal decision,” said Shee. “My brother,
brad, and I hve built this company alongside an incredible team, and finding a partner who
shares our values was essential. Perry Homes embodies the same commitment to quality,
design, and exceptional customer care that defines MasterCraft.”

Builder Advisor Group, LLC served as financial advisor for MasterCraft Builder Group, LLC, for
the sale to Perry Homes and also as advisor to SouthCraft Home Builders in the transaction with
Empire Communities.
