Toll Brothers has named David Assid as its new Houston division president. The news comes after the Horsham, Pennsylvania-based homebuilder promoted former Houston division president Karl Mistry to be the group president of the company’s Washington and Virginia regions.
Assid comes to his new role with more than 25 years of experience in the homebuilding industry, including 16 years with Toll Brothers. The Houston native began his career with Toll Brothers as a project manager overseeing the homebuilder’s Dallas-Fort Worth projects and worked his way up the ranks, serving most recently as the company’s Houston division vice president. Prior to joining Toll Brothers in 2000, Assid was a construction manager with Huntington Homes and General Homes. Assid earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Texas-Arlington. He and his wife, Tonya, currently reside in northwest Harris County. In his new role with Toll Brothers, Assid will be responsible for overseeing land acquisition, land development, sales and marketing, strategic planning, financial forecasts and customer relations in Houston. Assid will also work with Jim Jenkins, Toll Brothers’ vice president of master-planned communities, who was hired in 2014 to oversee three of Toll Brothers communities in Houston. Toll Brothers entered the Houston market in 2009, and has grown rapidly since. It is currently building in 10 communities in the city.
